The Monk Billiard Academy Grand Opening in South Florida!!!!

Let’s welcome Steve and Willie Rubin to our fine family of Monk Masters. These two high quality teachers went through five full days of training, plus they participated in a live workshop where they demonstrated their skills in helping players with their games.

“Steve really helped me with my eye pattern” Mike Davies told me. Mike flew down from New York to go through the two day workshop.

Steve Rubin is also in the Masters program and long recognized as a top player in South Florida. Steve owns Grovers Pool Hall in West Palm Beach Florida and now calls it the Southern edition of The Monk Billiard Academy.

“I plan to use Grovers Pool Hall as the Monk Billiard Academy. We invite everyone who wants to master this game to come down and take lessons at Grovers, and work through The Monk 101 program”.

Willie worked each day for ten hours learning how to share The Monk 101 program with others. “Feel free to come down to the south Monk billiard Academy and play pool with me. I will be happy to work with you on stroke mechanics, the four strokes of pool and cue ball speed.” Willie is a science major in college but plans a full time career in pocket billiards.

Steve Rubin gained his Monk Masters Degree and is ready to share strength and experience with players who want to take their game to a higher level. This father and son duo will give you some great instructions in South Florida.

ULTIMATE GOAL

Our ultimate goal is to be free. We desire to use all of our skills and some of us think we deserve to use all of our skills. Player after player complains that they are not able to produce the results they feel they are capable of. They feel like the let themselves down when the chance comes up. Something is wrong. They know it and can’t find the freedom to deal with it.

Not long ago a student of mine counted six times out of ten opportunities where he did not perform up to his standards. He had chances and did not cash in. This does not mean he lost the games. It only means he let himself down and in each situation, he confessed to getting out of rhythm. He allowed interference to flood his mind just when he needed his mind most.

How do we solve this problem? Do we need to learn more? Do we need more training? Do we need to read more books, watch more dvd’s?

When you can deliver a stroke in the exact same pace on each and every shot, you will be able to complete your run outs. This is easier said than done. I ordered my masters to pile rocks every day. This is to gain the rhythm and timing that enables you to gain your freedom. It takes a lot of training to reach this level, months and months of specific and deliberate training.

The ultimate ability to use all our skills in a game is to master the personal pace that applies to our efforts. Each player has a perfect pace and you must discover it. When you visit the land of dead stroke, you shoot every shot with the exact timing that allows your mind to control your stroke. Our mind knows when to shoot and if we go past that point, or shoot too soon, we do not like the results. Getting in stroke is finding your rhythm.

If you want to find your freedom then you must be able to control your pace. Now you have the answer. I am going to look for you in the finals.
